Neil Armstrong Middle School sixth graders recently had the opportunity to meet with Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt, a finalist on Survivor 44.
Lagares-Greenblatt, a neighbor and friend of Ms. Keri Spell, a teacher at the school, visited the school as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. She spoke to the students about growing up in Puerto Rico, her assimilation into life in the U.S., her struggles, and her achievements.
She also spoke about her Survivor experience and some lessons she gleaned from it.
Mrs. Lagares-Greenblatt was a member of the Soka Alliance on the show, which wore green bandannas. To show respect, some students wore green bandannas today to welcome our guest speaker.
