Neil Armstrong Middle School has received a very special gift on loan from the family of one of its students.
Christopher Dunn, whose daughter, Emma is a fifth grader at the school, loaned a framed photograph and letter from the Apollo 10 astronauts.
Emma’s grandfather, Bertram was an American diplomat living in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1970 when he hosted Eugene A. Cernan, John W. Young, and Thomas P. Stafford.
Following the visit, Dunn received a thank you letter from the office of former Vice President Spiro Agnew along with a photo signed by all three astronauts.
Those items stayed in Bertram‘s possession until his death. Dunn, then had the items framed and is lending them to the school with the famous astronaut as its namesake.
