Meet the Counselors
Mrs. Melissa Kolling
Mrs. Melissa Kolling is the fifth-grade Guidance Counselor at Neil Armstrong Middle School, where she has served since 2003. She is passionate about her role and dedicated to supporting students in reaching their full potential.
Before joining Neil Armstrong, Mrs. Kolling worked as an Elementary Counselor (K-6) at East Allegheny School District. Her experience also includes counseling at the high school and middle school levels in the Chartiers Valley School District and at the elementary level at Brookline Elementary School.
Kolling holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Education degree in School Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. She also earned a Master of Counseling Psychology and is a certified Guidance Counselor for grades K-12.
Mrs. Kolling strives to create a warm, supportive environment where students feel valued and empowered. She is committed to helping them develop confidence, resilience, and essential coping skills for everyday life.
Mrs. Erin Hadix
Mrs. Erin Hadix is the sixth grade School Counselor at Neil Armstrong Middle School.
Before joining Neil Armstrong, she worked as a Student Assistance Program (SAP) liaison for Allegheny Children's Initiative, serving multiple school districts. She also spent nearly two years as an outpatient clinician with Wesley Family Services and has experience as a substitute school counselor at Keystone Oaks School District. Additionally, she has worked as a school-based therapist and behavior therapist, specializing in supporting children on the autism spectrum.
Mrs. Hadix earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Carlow University and a Master of Science in Education in School Counseling from Duquesne University, where she also completed a post-graduate certification in Applied Behavior Analysis. She is a certified School Counselor for grades K-12 in Pennsylvania.
Passionate about helping students leverage their strengths to overcome challenges, Mrs. Hadix looks forward to building relationships with students and their families throughout the school year.
